  • Any tips for visiting the Hunter Valley?
    Located just two hours north of Sydney and an hour from Newcastle, the Hunter Valley is Australia’s oldest wine growing region. We recommend booking your accommodation, restaurants, and activities in advance to avoid disappointment.
  • What times are reception open?
    Reception is open 7 days a week from 10am to 6pm. For after hours, please dial 4303 from your inhouse phone to connect to a member of staff. You will find a selection of brochures detailing tours, attractions, wineries, and activities at reception or speak to our friendly staff for further local knowledge.
  • Is there somewhere to eat close by?
    Our newly renovated bistro is open seven days for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is an open fireplace for extra warmth in the colder months, and in the summer, our brand new spacious outdoor alfresco areas are the perfect place for a relaxed meal. Try our award-winning local favourite Beef and Guinness Pot Pie, indulge in a tender steak, or keep things light with a speciality salad. Dining at Harrigan’s is always delicious.     Yes! Harrigan’s Bottle Shop stocks a wide range of boutique and imported beers along with local and imported wines. Sunday to Thursday 11:00am – 8:00pm Friday & Saturday 11:00am – 10:00pm

  • What activities are there in the area?

    Hunter Valley Gardens is a beautiful, nature based, experience for local, national, and international visitors. Explore eight kilometers of walking paths winding through 14 hectares of gardens consisting of over 6000 trees, 600,000 shrubs and over 1 million ground cover plants, plus waterfalls, statues, murals and much more. The ten individually themed gardens showcase the artistry of gardens around the world and use both native and exotic varieties of plants. Hunter Valley Gardens is open daily from 9am – 5pm.

    Hunter Valley Gardens Shopping Village is a unique collection of bespoke shops ideally located just outside the entrance to Hunter Valley Gardens. You can visit over 20 unique specialty shops, cafés, and restaurants. For your convenience you will also find a general store and pharmacy where you can pick up those last-minute items.

    Hunter Valley Semillon is widely considered the iconic wine of the region, but the Hunter also produces wine from a variety of grapes including Shiraz, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Verdelho. A visit to one of the many cellar doors is a must when in the Hunter Valley.

    Admire the Hunter Valley from new heights with a sunrise Hot Air Balloon flight. Breeze through the sky and take in the spectacular vineyard views.

    With beautifully designed golf courses surrounded by rolling vineyards and spectacular mountain ranges, the Hunter Valley is one of the best golfing destinations in the world. Get into the swing of things at the three quality golf courses, all located only minutes from Harrigan’s Hunter Valley. For the less serious golfer, Hunter Valley Aqua Golf is the ideal venue to try and hit a golf ball for the first time. Many players enjoy the relaxed and picturesque setting whilst others are competing with their friends and family to see who can win a prize.

    Hunter Valley Horse Riding & Adventures allow visitors to the area, the chance to ride the unique Molly Morgan Range and experience the spectacular views of the Hunter Valley. Riding is available every day for the inexperienced (the beginner) and the experienced rider.
